Choosing a career that matches your personality isn’t impossible. Many people are often surprised that when they do find a role that keeps them satisfied, they didn’t realise how suitable the job role would be for the benefit of their strengths and weaknesses.
We all have strengths and weaknesses, and some people are quick to realise them and others not so. The sooner you admit to your weaknesses, the quicker you will look for a role that plays on your positives. For example; If you are a people person but work in a small business that isn’t consumer focused, this may be the wrong career for you. If you find it hard to switch off or disconnect, then you may consider a role in media production or even PR and Marketing. There’s never a dull moment in these sectors, and news is coming in thick and fast all the time. Again, if you have routine and don’t want a 9 to 5 job, consultant led roles may be the perfect route for your future.
So, what can you do? Come up with an idea, find the resources to meet that idea and turn these thoughts into actions that will therefore benefit your career, and personal growth. It means you are working hand in hand with your personality to benefit your own success.
